Good Citizen Award
The Good Citizen award is presented to students who show respect, kindness and responsibility to their teachers, classmates and school community. Students are nominated monthly by Ballston Spa Middle School staff members. Recipients of this award are individuals who stand out among their peers and who also create a school climate that encourages others to display the same characteristics. BSMS is so proud of our Good Citizens.

October 22, 2025

Our Athlete of the Week for this week has 6 outstanding athletes to recognize. Our first nominee is Luci Decelle from Girls Modified Soccer. Luci is being recognized for her overall outstanding play throughout the season and hard work in practices. Luci played both fullback and forward and scored the game winning goal against Colonie.
Our second nominee is also from the Girls Modified Soccer team, Sydney Petar. Sydney is an outstanding athlete and scored the only goal in our 1-0 win vs Niskayuna. Sydney currently leads the team in scoring with 8 points.
Next, we have Cole Lichva from the 7th grade Modified Football team. This is Cole's second nomination for Athlete of the week this fall. Cole stood strong yesterday in the pocket, and at the helm, as the QB. Cole had several great plays both passing and running. His defensive tackling did not go unnoticed with several takedowns for negative yardage against Shaker. His outstanding effort and great attitude is the reason for recognizing him twice this season.
Next we have Dylan Beck from Modified Boys Soccer. Dylan has performed very well as a captain and starting goalie and has made some big plays to keep his team competitive. His leadership has been crucial in many key moments of our season.
Lastly, we have two more girls from the Modified Girls Volleyball team. Amelia LeBlanc and Bella Messier. Bella is smart and coachable. In the past week, she has taken feedback and applied it to improve her skills and has such a great serve, getting multiple aces in our games this week. She works hard everyday to become a better athlete.
Secondly, Amelia LeBlanc has had many kills from our games this week and pushes herself to be better than the day before. Her positive attitude helps create a supportive energy on the court.

This week we have 6 new athletes for Middle School Athlete of the Week. Our first Athlete is Addie Taylor from the Varsity Cross Country team. Addie is one of the Girls' Varsity Team's top runners, posting competitive times and earning a spot on the varsity roster from the very beginning of the season. Although she is the youngest girls' runner on the team, she displays leadership qualities and a work ethic that her teammates strive to match. In her most recent competition, Addie posted an exceptional 5k time of 22 minutes and 35 seconds and is currently training for the team's Suburban Council championships. Congratulations on a great season so far Addie, and good luck during your championship run. Our second Athlete is Max DeMerritt who also competes on the Varsity Cross Country team. As the boys' team's youngest runner, Max also has stepped into a prominent role as a leader and contributor in every event he has competed in. On Saturday, October 3, Max ran a personal best 5k time of 19 minutes and 47 seconds running at a consistent 6 minute 22 second pace per mile! Congratulations on a great season so far Max, and good luck during the upcoming Suburban Council championships.
Our next Athlete is Nick Sheridan from the Modified Cross Country team. Nick ran an amazing race last week at the CBA cross country meet with a time of 9:38 finishing 4th out of 41 athletes entered. Nick times have been improving every meet, proving hard work and dedication pays off.
Another nominee from the Girls JV Soccer team is Collyns Delarm. Collyns deserves to be recognized as an athlete of the week for scoring the game winning goal over Columbia HS for girls JV soccer. Collyns always shows up to work hard whether it’s a game or practice and she’s posted up multiple goals so far this season.
Next we have Katie Carver from Girls Mod 9 Soccer. Coach Immel says that the team is off to a tremendous start to the soccer season and are improving each game. Katie had 4 goals in the 8-0 victory against Guilderland last week and is looking to lead the team to victories against Saratoga and Shen this week.
Our last nominee is Dylan Krieder from Modified Boys Soccer. Dylan has stepped up tremendously playing defense during his first year on Mod Soccer and has stopped the opposing team from possessing the ball on offense.

We would like to recognize 6 Middle School Athletes for the Athlete of the Week. These athletes of a fall sport were nominated by their coaches for outstanding play and hard work in games and practices. Our first athlete is Maureen Dunn from JV Girls Tennis. She is always on time, works hard, and has improved her skills 10 fold this season. She also balances a full time JV schedule with travel softball and basketball. She works incredibly hard and is so kind and polite.
Our second Athlete is Addison Winters from Varsity Tennis. Congratulations to 8th grader Addison Winters for an impressive season playing #3 singles on the varsity tennis team! Addison currently has 5 wins this season, earning wins over South Glens Falls, Albany, Niskayuna, Averill Park, and Greenwich. Great job representing the team as a middle schooler at the varsity level.
Next we have Adam Loomis from Modified Cross Country. The modified XC team has been improving by leaps and bounds. The hardwork and dedication these young athletes have shown this year is second to none. Adam is a big part of their success. He has shown true leadership and is always staying focused on the team and making sure his teammates are working hard.
Our next athlete is Liam Jackson from the Modified 9 Boys Soccer team. Coach Williamson says Liam is a leader and represents his school team well. He scored a goal for us last week in a comeback tie against Colonie.
Finally we have two Quarterbacks from the 7th Grade Modified football team. Coach Costello nominates Cole Lichva and Griffin Janis. Although we took a loss against Nisky 12-0, a big shout out to Cole Lichva and Griffin Janis for throwing for several 30-40 yard passes to get us several 1st down during our game Monday night.

We have 8 nominations for Middle School Athlete of Week. Our first Athlete is Colin McNulty who plays Attack on the Boys Modified Lacrosse team. Colin has 18 goals and 11 assists on the season and has made some big plays for our team. He is very coachable and works hard on and off the field and is a big reason the team is 6 and 1.
Our second nominee is Henry Lotto who participates in Boys Modified Track. He was nominated by Coach Immel for continuing to work hard and lead in practice. His hard work and dedication has shown with impressive times in meets this week.
Next we have Ryan Salazar from the Freshman Boys Baseball squad. Ryan Salazar pitched 85 pitches and battled the Guilderland Dutchmen.....He's having a great season on the mound, fielding and hitting. He hit some rockets yesterday against Guilderland and is a solid hitter.
Lastly, we have Chase Marotta from the Modified Baseball team. Chase is the ultimate team guy. He has pitched awesome for our team over the past two games against some of the best teams in the Suburban Council. He has also had a few timely hits for our team in some big situations.
On the Girls side we have Caroline Jenkins from the Modified Softball team. Caroline is a multi position player holding down shortstop and catcher. Caroline has become a vocal leader on the field whether she's on offense or defense. Caroline leads the team in RBI's with 10.
Next, we have Kilynn Wanser from Modified Track. Kilynn has continued to improve her time in the 100 meter dash. She works hard at practice and is a huge asset on the 4 x 100 relay team.
From the Girls Modified Track team we have Viktoria Zborovskzy. Viktoria ran an excellent time of 30.7 in the 200 meter dash and PR in the 100 meter dash. Also, recorded a long jump of 10 ft 7in to help her team against Niskayuna last Thursday.
Lastly we have Allison Sierra from Girls Modified Lacrosse. Allison scored a hat trick Wednesday in the girls modified Lacrosse game against Niskayuna helping the modified team stay within two goals heading into half time.

We have 8 nominations for Athlete of the Week in the Middle School. There are lots of great things going on in our Varsity JV Mod 9 and Modified sports this week.
Our first nomination is Amelia Corey. Amelia plays Modified Softball and has begun to shine driving in 5 runs and going 4 for 5 with 3 doubles against Shaker. It shows the hard work she puts in on and off the field.
Next is Isabelle Oblisky for the Modified 9 Softball team. Izzy has been dominating at the plate. Versus Guilderland in a 20-8 win, she went 4 for 5 collecting 6 RBI on the day including a double. In the following game versus Shaker, in an 11-7 win she went 1 for 2 including a double, two RBI, and walked once. She did this while playing Catcher for both contests.
Our third girl is Hannah Bordwell - Hannah is one of the many talented midfielders on our team who's determination has contributed on both the offensive and defensive end. Hannah is not afraid to go after it and is making a big impact on the team!
And finally our last girl is Madison Snuggs who runs on our Varsity Track team. Madison Snuggs had a great day at the Colonie relays this past Saturday. Despite the pouring rain during most of the day, Maddy ran the second leg in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 relays. The 4x400 was where she really shined through though running a new PR of 65 shattering her old time by 3 seconds.
On the Boys side we have Quentin Tierney who runs on the Varsity Track team. Quentin has been dominant in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:26 in that event. That is his time for two full laps around our Ballston Spa Track which is amazing. He also broke our PACER record in PE class with 235 laps which was currently 221 from two years ago.
Next we have Brady Cornell from the JV lacrosse team. Brady has been working very hard and a big part of the teams success.He had a sudden Victory goal in overtime against a strong Shaker team and is second in points on the Ballston Spa JV squad.
Our last two Boy nominations are Jaxson Cherry and Zac Jones. Coach Devizzo said they were big contributors to the success in their last game versus Schenectady winning 15-5. Both players had big hits and plays in the field to lead the team to victory.

Sandy Morley PE leadership Award
The Sandy Morley Physical Education Leadership award was created 40 years ago for students who have shown great character and integrity in their school and community. The actions of these students have inspired others to do their best and have shown what a great role model looks like. Their pursuit of excellence in Physical Education and their participation in sports has made them a great citizen in our Ballston Spa community. These 6 athletes are responsible and respectful of others and they make good decisions for themselves. They value learning, are physically active, and have a positive influence on their peers.
This award is really about how these individuals act and what they say to others. They were all nominated by the PE staff at Ballston Spa Middle School for these characteristics and we congratulate them on standing up for what is right, not what is always popular. Please keep leading the way you always have.. Today, Tomorrow, and in the future.

We have 6 Middle School Athletes of the Week to recognize this week. Our first Male nomination is Colin Maree. Colin is a three sport athlete and is currently on the Boys Modified Lacrosse team. He has 4 goals in 2 games and is a ground ball machine. Colin has also been dominant on faceoffs and scored the game winning goal on Friday vs Bethlehem.
Our second Male nomination is Owen Casey. Owen plays up on the Freshman team and hit an inside the park Homerun to drive in two runs and win the game vs Burnt Hills 10-1.
Lastly Keaton Cornick was nominated for Modified Track. He ran a 12:59 seconds in the 100 yard dash and jumped an outstanding long jump of 15 feet 4 inches vs Guilderland last Thursday
On the Girls side we have Charlotte Haskell from Modified track.Charlotte Haskell ran an impressive 200 yard dash with a time of 28.27 and recorded a time of 14.25 in the 100 yard sprint vs Guilderland last week
Secondly, we have Eva Helmerci from Girls Modified Softball. She has stepped up to become a leader on the team whether we are on the field or in school. Eva is leading the team with a 714 slugging percentage.
Lastly, We have Hailey Delgado from the Mod 9 Softball team. Hailey is extremely hardworking and she leads by example and is supportive of her teammates. Hailey Delgado collected 4 hits and a stolen base vs Guilderland in a 20-8 win. She pitched 3 innings with 3 strikeouts. In an 11-7 win over Shaker she had 1 hit, a stolen base, and 2 runs scored. Pitching 5 innings with 3 strikeouts. Congrats to all our nominations! Go Scotties!

We are starting Athlete of the Week for Middle School students this week and we will continue each week until June. Our First Athlete of the week is Coltin Raeder. Coltin plays JV Boys Lacrosse as an 8th grader and has scored 16 goals and 5 assists in three games. He is tenacious on ground balls and has a powerful shot on the cage. Coltin does a lot for his team and helps others be successful.
Our second Athlete is Ryan Galvin. Ryan is a hardworking and good natured player on the Boys Modified Baseball team. He has helped get the team ready for the first game of the season by showing leadership and instructing others to do their best. Ryan is well respected by his teammates and plays many roles on the team.
Our third Athlete is Braden Perrone. This is Bradens third time receiving this honor of Athlete of the week. He also received it during Football and Wrestling. Braden is the Goalie of the Modified Boys Lacrosse team and was selected Captain by his teammates. Braden works hard at being the best Goalie he can be and leads others by example. He is the first one ready to start practice and the last to leave. Braden also gets the players "hyped" up for games and practices and always has something positive to say in our "huddle".
Our Three Female Athletes are from the Girls Varsity Track team. Coach Germann has so many great things to say about Adelyn Taylor, Ava Wright and Emery Deming.
Adelyn Taylor and Ava Wright took part in their first ever varsity meet on Wednesday (both 7th graders) They were an integral part of our 4x800 that took 5th place. Ava also ran the 200, and Adelyn ran the 800 as well.
Emery Deming came in 2nd in the 400 hurdles (First time ever competing in that event), she also ran lead off for our 4x400 team with a great time of 67 seconds for the 400.
These girls helped our varsity team beat Bethlehem and we are off to race again Friday night under the lights at Broadalbin Relays.

We would like to recognize a few individuals and a teams with some end of the season highlights for MS athletes and sports. Congratulations to the Boys Modified Basketball Team on a great season. Highlights of the season include beating Saratoga for the first time in over 10 years, comeback victories over Shaker and CBA, and ending the season on a 12 game win streak. Our offense scored 52 points per game and stingy defense allowed 32 points per game resulting in a 13-1 record. It was always a team effort. Thank you to all of the fans that came to each game, especially the students and teachers. We appreciated all the support this year from the school community.
Secondly, Avery Ostrander had an exceptional JV basketball season, leading her team to a 16-4 record with her relentless work ethic and impressive skills. As the point guard and one of the top scorers, she played a crucial role in her team's success. Avery also made a memorable impact in her first varsity game, finishing as the team's leading scorer with 14 points and helping secure a 46-30 sectional victory over Burnt Hills.
Our Third athlete, Emery Deming had a great showing placing 6th at sectionals in both the 55 meter hurdles and triple jump. Her hurdle time places her 6th in NY state and 14th in the nation for 8th graders!!! She consistently works hard and is always willing to put her team first! Congratulations Emery!
Lastly, Brenden Mulvaney got his 100 win a few weeks back and was a pin for victory. This is a huge accomplishment for such a young athlete.

Our final Athlete of the Week for Winter sports season recognizes 6 athletes this week. Our first athlete is CJ Fernandez from Boys Modified Basketball. CJ Fernandes has hit four three pointers and had 5 steals in his last two games. He has also valued his offensive possessions without turning the ball over. He consistently leads by example and is a big reason we're having the success we are having this season. Our second athlete is Braden Perrone from the Modified Wrestling team. Braden is the heartbeat of the wrestling team with his positive energy and competitive spirit. His work ethic has elevated his techniques in the sport and made him successful throughout this season. Coach Reynolds said the team would not be the same without Braden Perrone. Our third male Athlete is Blake Lundin from the Modified Swim Team. Blake is a strong swimmer and is dedicated to improve each day in the pool. In his last meet, Blake swam a strong anchor leg in the medley relay last meet last week.
On the girls side, we have Caroline Jenkins from Modified Swimming. Caroline is a committed athlete who strives to compete her best in each race. Caroline swam an impressive Individual Medley in her opening meet last week. Secondly, we have Riley Deluke from Girls Modified Basketball. Riley is smart and works extremely hard each time on the court. Coach Moseman said she is one of the most improved players on the team this year and is consistent with her positive and hard working attitude. She is someone he can count on to give her all each time they practice or compete in a game. Last but not least, we have Mackenzie Kirwin also from Girls Modified Basketball. Mackenzie is a Captain and is the glue that keeps the team together when facing adversity. She is a point guard who sees the floor well and helps others to play their best. She encourages her teammates through good times and bad, and has been a fun player to coach this season.

This week we have 4 outstanding athletes for Middle School Athlete of the Week. Our first nomination from Boys Modified Basketball is Damon Decelle. Damon has stepped up big on the basketball court. He has stretched opposing teams' defenses with his three point shooting and his length in the 1-3-1 zone has given other teams problems. Damon is shooting over 50% from three point range on the season. Our second nomination is Ryan Galvin from Modified Wrestling. Ryan will not back down from any challenge and is willing to help his teammates get better. Coach Reynolds says "Ryan is a WE guy, not a ME guy. His unselfish attitude is a key to the teams success.
On the girls side, we have Natalie Ostrander from Girls Mod 9 basketball. Natalie plays up as an 8th grader and is tenacious on defense. She is smart with the ball and hit key shots during Tuesdays win vs Guilderland.
Last but not least, We have Rachel Sharpe from Girls Modified Basketball. Rachel is strong on the glass and is the teams leading rebounder. She is great in transition from defense to offense and is vital to the teams success in the last few games.

The Middle School Athlete of the Week recognizes an Athlete who works hard, shows great leadership, and positively impacts the team they play for. Our first Athlete is Paige Dunham from the Modified Girls Basketball team. Paige is a hard worker on and off the court. Her positive attitude is consistent in games and practices. She plays great defense during games and leads by example. Our second Athlete is Madison Snuggs. Maddie plays up on the Mod 9 team and has made 100 percent of her free throws. She hit a big three pointer in the last game which changed the momentum of the game. Our third female Athlete is Emery Deming from the Varsity indoor track team. This is the second time Emery has been nominated for Athlete of the Week. Emery had a record performance in her last meet in the Shuttle Hurdle Relay. She is consistent with her work ethic and it shows in her performances at meets.
On the Boys side we have Brendan Mulvaney from the Modified Wrestling team. Brendan is so dedicated to wrestling that he wrestles on two other club teams, in addition to Modified team. Brendan is so good with his technique and had a major nail biting pin last meet to help his team to victory. Our Second Male Athlete is Jack Potter and this is also his second nomination for Indoor Track. Jack took 16 seconds off his Personal Record in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:20 in his last meet. Lastly, we have Tyler Ordon with the Boys Modified Basketball team. Tyler is a three sport athlete playing and excelling in Football, Basketball, and Lacrosse. Tyler has been a menace on the defensive end of the basketball floor. His relentless energy and effort has made it tough for the opposing offense to get anything going. Tyler has also cleaned up the boards with 20 rebounds the last three games.

Our Middle School Athlete of the Week is recognizing quite a few athletes this week. On the boys side we have Logan Janis from Modified Basketball-Logan constantly displays positive work habits on the basketball court and in the classroom. His attitude and determination to be better and make his teammates better are reasons why his teammates voted him a team captain. . Noah Barber from the Modified Wrestling team is our second nomination. Noah works extremely hard on his techniques and is very coachable. His greatest trait is his willingness to help others and improve his teammates skills. He is a tremendous leader and a important part of the team. Our final boys nomination is Brian Macri. Brian is dominant in his wrestling matches and has an undefeated record. Brian won his last match in 21 seconds, which is a great accomplishment for wrestlers.
On the girls side, Coach Moseman would like to recognize his entire Girls Modified Basketball team this week. There are 11 girls on his team and they show tremendous dedication and perseverance. On Monday the Ballston Spa Girls Modified Basketball team traveled to Shaker to play a very good Undefeated shaker team. Even though our team did not win the contest after a two week lay-off, the girls played extremely hard and were successful in many areas. Congratulations to all the modified girls for their never quit attitude on the court against an extremely talented team in Shaker. Congratulations to all our Athletes of the Week! Go Scotties!

Our Athlete of the Week recognizes MS Student Athletes who show great leadership and character and have had an outstanding performance in games or practices.
We would like to recognize Jack Potter from the Varsity Indoor Track team who improved his 1000 meter race time by 8 seconds and got a Personal Record for that performance. Our second male athlete is CJ Bryant. CJ scored his first points in a modified basketball contest and after a very tough foul, he made one of two from the foul line. Later in the quarter, CJ buried a 3 pointer from way downtown!
Our first Female Athlete is Sophie Keller. Sophies leadership skills were on display in our win over Saratoga, helping the girls modified basketball team to victory. She excelled on both offense and defense, earning herself athlete of the week. Lastly, Addison Eldridge was chosen a second week in a row for this award by scoring 13 points in a big win vs Averill Park on Tuesday. Congrats to all of our Middle School Athletes of the Week..Go Scotties!

Our first Middle School nominees for Winter Sports Athlete of the Week are starting this week. This is special recognition for some of our hardworking student athletes in the Middle School who showed great effort and leadership during tryouts of their respective teams. Our first nominee is Anthony Rodriguez from Varsity Bowling. Anthony had some great matches last week in his first varsity bowling participation, earning the team 3 points and bowling a high game of 237 in the big win against CBA. Our second nominee is Ryan Durant. Ryan consistently displayed positivity, encouragement, and empathy throughout basketball tryouts. With players of all ability levels, he coached kids up, encouraged them, and helped whenever needed.
On the Girls side, Emery Deming was nominated from Girls Varsity Track. Emery had her best time on the 300 meter Dash last meet at Union College and is determined, motivated, and an accountable leader for her track teammates. Coach Crisafulli gave her the greatest compliment by saying she exemplifies the true qualities of a Ballston Spa Varsity Track Athlete. Lastly, we have 7th grader Addison Eldridge from the Modified 9 Basketball squad. Addison scored 8 points at our Saratoga game and was able to shoot from all areas of the court. She is dedicated to her skills and a key player for the team. Congrats to all of our nominees and best of luck to the rest of your seasons. Go Scotties!

Our Middle School sports are winding down for the fall so this will be our final Athlete of the week until winter sports. Our first nominee is Addie Taylor from the X-County team. Addie is a hard working athlete, improving her times at every meet. Her leadership ability has helped our team to improve over the course of the season. Our second nominee is our entire Modified Girls Soccer team. Coach Buffoline would like to recognize all 12 players on the Girls Modified Soccer Team.Yesterday they wrapped up our undefeated season with an impressive record of 11-0-1and only allowed 3 goals all season.
All 12 players improved their skill level throughout the season and were very coachable. Playing on this team was their first experience wearing a Scotties uniform and representing our school. They showed great character and pride throughout the season. It was a pleasure to coach them and a lot of fun. On the Boys side our third nominee is Ryan Salzar. Ryan has stepped up to play goalkeeper for the Modified 9 soccer team after our starting goalkeeper was injured. Ryan had never played goalkeeper before and has done a great job filling the void. And finally from our 8th grade Modified Boys Football we nominate Braeden Perrone. Braeden was our rock at the Center position and was a Captain for us. His leadership was key part for many of wins this season and gave spirited pre-game speeches to motivate the guys. His highlight of the year was a strip sack of the quarterback and scoop and score for a touchdown.

We are proud to announce our MS Athletes of the Week. This week our first nominee is Carter Ahl who plays on our JV boys Soccer team. Carter scored a "Hat trick", which is three goals in one game, vs South Glens Falls. Carter is the Goalie which makes that accomplishment even better. He is great leader and can play a variety of positions on the field. Our second nominee is Jack Potter who runs for our Modified X-Country team. Jack is strong and dedicated to running and had his Personal Best time in his last meet. On the Girls side, Ava Wright, who also runs for the Modified X-Country team, was nominated for her strong running in a win vs Guilderland and Mohonasen last week. She is helpful to her teammates and always encouraging them to succeed. Our last Nominee is Riley Froschaure from Girls Mod 9 Soccer. Riley has helped lead the team to victories over Shen and Guilderland last week by scoring 4 goals in two games. Her hard work in the offseason has really paid off for our team..Congrats to all of our award winners..GO SCOTTIES!

Our Modified Sports Athlete of the week nominations are as follows. Our first Athlete of the week is Haley Delgado from the Girls Modified Volleyball team. Haley is tough and an excellent passer on the court. She is also supportive of her teammates and leads by example. Violet Cramer is our second nominee and plays on our Modified Girls Soccer team.She has scored 8 goals and has 7 assists this season and is supportive and encouraging of her teammates. She works hard and does whatever it takes to make her team successful. On the Boys side, Jack Hover is our Quarterback and Captain of our 7th grade boys modified Football team. Jack is smart and leads our team during difficult times in a positive way. He has thrown for 3 Touchdowns this fall and is well respected by his teammates. Finally, we have Liam Jackson who plays on our Modified Boys Soccer team. Liam is quick and has exceptional soccer skills. He sets a great example for others and excels in the classroom and on the field.

Our Athletes of the week for Modified Fall Sports are given to Student Athletes who excel on and off the field and have shown greatness to their teammates. This award will be given to 4 individuals each week of our Fall sports season.This week we would like to recognize Hannah Bordwell of the Mod 9 Soccer team for her hard play and positive attitude. Also,Charlotte Haskell from the Mod Soccer team who scored 2 goals vs Burnt Hills and is leading the team with 5 goals and 7 assists. On the Boys side, we have Owen Casey from the 8th grade Mod Football team for his smart and gritty performances in our first three games and Jackson Abare from Mod 9 soccer team for scoring the winning goal vs Saratoga on Friday and being a great teammate. Congrats to all of our nominees and GO SCOTTIES!

The Saratoga County History Center is excited to announce the grand opening of the "History Hunters Hangout" - a permanent, year-round space designed specifically for children and families. This new playroom offers activities for children of all ages, providing a wonderful opportunity for family engagement and learning. SCHC’s goal is to inspire a lifelong love and appreciation of history in the next generation by connecting young and curious minds to hands-on activities, creative exploration, and meaningful experiences.
Inside the History Hunters Hangout, families can explore a variety of interactive stations and play options.
The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame’s annual Student Art Exhibition is back!
Win, Place, Show will display student artwork in the Museum’s von Stade Gallery in the spring of 2025.
This year’s exhibition is sponsored by the New York State Breeding and Development Fund.
Visual Art created by our BSMS Students
An annual collaboration between the Saratoga History Center and BSMS. The virtual student art show will grow during the school year as more of our sixth grade students create their watercolor paintings inspired by local landmarks.
Ms. Dubuque , from The Saratoga County History Center, shared seven local landmarks in the Village of Ballston Spa with grade 6 Art classes. The information will be applied to student paintings inspired by their community.
Students in Art 6 discovered the artists Giuseppe Arcimboldo and will be displaying their creative proportional portraits inspired by still-life themes at the Wellness Expo March 2025. Healthy food choices, sporting equipment and the great outdoors are some themes explored.
